For the registration of VAT, your turnover exceeds a certain threshold £61,000 per annum as of April 2006. However you can voluntarily register if your turnover is below this threshold. This then allows you to recover the VAT which you have been charged on company expenses. For many businesses, registration quite simply means tax saved for you, but many people don't bother to register to avoid all the paperwork.
